Mazda3 MPS Residuals Increased

Having recently entered the new car marketplace the new Mazda3 MPS has just received a boost in its residual value estimate from CAP for the all-important 3 years old figure.
Sitting very much in the hot hatch bracket the Mazda3 MPS has a 2.3 litre engine under the bonnet, petrol of course, pumping out a huge 257bhp. Buyers of the new car currently have to pay around £21,500, with CAP originally saying that 3 years later the car would be worth approximately 30 percent of that amount – £6,425. However the revision brought in by CAP adds £750 to the value of the car after 3 years, a substantial difference.
The change in the residual value of the MPS will affect used car prices in the future but also the car leasing rates now, since they use forecast residual figures to calculate monthly payments. With this increase in value anyone looking at Mazda3 contract hire and personal contract purchase should see the rates reduced to take account of the extra £750 the car will be worth. It is recommended that anyone considering the lease of a new Mazda3 MPS discusses this aspect of the deal with the finance company straight away, just to make sure the best possible rate is sourced...
